If you have read any of my material before then you know that I am a huge fan of creativity when it comes to designing a strength and conditioning program. I believe you have to be creative to grow and learn in both life and when it comes down to fitness as well. I think the time it takes one to explore and experiment with crazy and unique ideas is also beneficial to one’s body when seeking out those new physical challenges.
To look at this unique concept of fitness exploration I want to introduce to you the hard-hitting workout you can get from a 5 gallon bucket and some water from your garden hose. To start, you can achieve as many lifts and exercises from this unique idea as you can come up with, but I am only going to introduce a couple of variations. Start out by trying to get your hands on a couple of 5 gallon buckets. Next fill them with water as close to the rim as possible in your yard. From here on out everything is performed on flat level ground. Next mark off a distance of about 20 yards. Pick up the buckets and carefully walk the distance you have marked off. The key is to avoid spilling any of the water! When you get better at stabilizing and handling the weight you can put a different dynamic twist on the drill by walking while steadily curling the buckets in each arm.
This is an incredibly effective unorthodox style of training that is great for building core strength and is highly effective in building up your overall fitness. Give it a try and enjoy my friends!
